Abstract
This paper relates to how a leading oilfield service company improved the lives of its families through award-winning technology and how these families have joined together for the well being of communities in which they live....Fifteen years ago Schlumberger recognised the challenge facing expatriate spouses and as a result formed the Schlumberger Spouses Association (SSA). The SSA serves as a social and community outreach organisation now comprising 7500 members in 114 chapters in 54 countries.

Together, SSA members built an ever-expanding network of programs that reach out to local communities. These programs cover a wide range of geographic locations, groups and organizations, and share the common goal of improving lives of Schlumberger spouses and communities in which they find themselves living.

SSA Search for History

Dear Spouses,

You have been so supportive, that I feel very comfortable writing to you time and time again asking for your help and support.

It is important that we preserve our rich history. However, many members who possess this knowledge has either moved on or they are no long with the company. I hope to recapture some of our history by asking each of you to please search through your SSA files and provide me with old issues of the SSA magazine or any other SSA material (ex. SSA's first Constitution, which is now called guidelines) which you think members would be interested in reading. I plan to create a History section on the web portal and post this information.

I need the following issues of the SSA Magazine (now called SSAfara, originally called SSA Around the World):

Issues: 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13
