| Gender and Diversity in Schlumberger |

Dear All,
Schlumberger Senior management is curently working on a project with respect to gender diversity within Schlumberger. As a diverse organisation, we may be able to help by answering the below questions.
The main perspective that they would like to gain from the SSA is as
follows:
- What are the main issues that still prevent companies from having visible percentage's of women at all levels of an organization.
- Is dual career management an issue that is driven more by women than men.
- Are women more likely to tailor their career to be flexible to their
spouse/family/work life balance or is it the same for men and women?
- What is the reason that the spouses in SSA have chose to follow the
career of their spouse/significant other?
- What would be the one or two things that a company like Schlumberger could do to increase the number of women working for the company, staying with the company, taking positions of increasing responsibility?
Any other thoughts or perspectives from our population on gender diversity
would be greatly appreciated. The SSA is a great source of information for
this project as Senior Managers believe there are a number of women -
dedicated to careers/motherhood/spouses who will give us a much different
perspective than they will get just from their own population.
I would appreciate any response by no later than Monday, Sept 27. I am sorry
for the short notice but I have just received this request and need to
consolidate your response and send the resume by Tuesday, Sept 28.
