Heartwalk - More Info ID: 12608
Dear All Spouses:

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of Americans. It kills more people than the other seven leading causes of death combined. It is also costly to you, your family and to Schlumberger. Nationwide, employers spend more than $1 Billion every year on cardiovascular disease (CVD)-related healthcare costs.

SSA is joining the rest of the Schlumberger family in its commitment to the nationwide Heart Walk. Schlumberger QHSE organization and Wellness staff are currently working to connect local SLB Company Leaders to local Heart Walk staff throughout the country. Schlumberger goal is to have 1,000 walkers that will each raise at least $100.

SSA has been invited to participate in the nationwide Heart Walk and I would like to invite each of you to participate in this worthy cause. I will also be involved and hope I can count on each of you.

If you have any questions, you can contact the SLB Heart Walk Company Leader, Susan Kalkan, at 281-285-8858, or SSA Contact: Sandra Luckett. . You may also sign up directly at

There will be prizes for all walkers, and special rewards for those who volunteer to be Team Captains. Adult walkers will each receive the “official” Schlumberger Heart Walk T-shirt to wear in the walk. In addition, everyone who walks may claim 500 BONUS Healthy Rewards Points from the wellness program. And everyone who raises $100 or more will receive a certificate of appreciation.

The first 100 individuals who sign up to be a Team Captain will receive a pedometer and can claim another 500 BONUS Healthy Rewards points.

Heart Walk Cities are listed below:

Location/Walk Date

Anchorage / Sept. 11
Princeton / Sept. 18
Houma / Sept. 18
Midland, TX / Sept. 18
New York City / Sept. 23
Lafayette/Youngsville, LA / Oct. 30
Sugar Land/Houston / Nov. 6

If there is no heart walk scheduled for your city and you would like to organize a heart walk, please contact Susan Kalkan or Sandra Luckett. For those that have walks happening soon, please don't forget to order your SLB Heart Walk shirts. Shirts sizes are small to xx-large. To ensure we have enough, please only order what you need. For those with later walks, to ensure all walkers have shirts please wait until about 2 weeks before your walk to order your shirts from Deanna. E-mail address for Deanna is Deanna.Tye@cexp.com.

Be sure to take pictures at your walk and e-mail them to me.

All the best,
Sandra Luckett – SSA Ex-Officio Global Coordinator

Join the Heart Walk! ID: 12581
The AHA website for on-line team enrollment of walkers and team captains and on-line donations is up and running!

Join the Schlumberger Heart Walk team!

The 11 walk locations with organized walks are listed by the city name in the left column. Your name as Location Leader will appear in the right column by your location name. Teams should be created underneath your location node by clicking on the create new team button in the center column. You will be prompted to create a team name for each team and assign a team captain to that team. You may want assist your team captains through the process to ensure that the teams get created in the correct node/location. Remember that this is where your walkers will enroll in a team and potentially give on-line donations. We want to ensure that it is done for the correct location so each gets the proper credit. If you run into a problem or make a mistake, contact Susan Kalkan and she will contact AHA for you.

The "Other SLB Location" is for employees who want to walk in areas with no organized walk (i.e. Bossier City, Tyler, Ventura, etc.)

The Sugar Land campus has already created 7 teams. Please feel free to take a look at how they were created, their names, goals for fundraising, etc. If have questions or need guidance in use of the website, don't hesitate to call. Happy recruiting and walking!!
