About SEED ID: 10899
The Schlumberger Excellence in Educational Development (SEED) program connects disadvantaged school children in developing countries to the Internet, shares the real world of science through a multilingual online science center, and facilitates collaborative projects among school children around the world. The program offers young people a tangible opportunity to participate in the economic and social advantages afforded by access to new knowledge and technologies. Our vision is to build a learning community that dissolves barriers and creates connections.

SEED was created in 1998 in response to information and communication technology needs in developing countries, to the challenges of science education around the world, and in recognition of the resources Schlumberger could provide to help address these challenges.

SEED draws upon three particular Schlumberger resources: people who are willing and motivated to share their knowledge and time, expertise in networking technology and a range of science disciplines, and a long-standing presence in over 100 countries.

Dear Schlumberger Spouses,

Schlumberger SEED is looking to enroll middle and high schools as part of our Collaborative Projects mission. If you are interested you can:

  1. Recommend a school to us (anywhere in the world)
  2. Volunteer to mentor students and teachers on global collaborations.
  3. Check out the SEED website and let us know how you'd like to contribute.
