Randa
Mazzawi, Global Coordinator - Paris, France
"Compassion and
friendship have always been the main motto of SSA. SSA is our second
family, being away from home.
Please count on my full support and let’s achieve all together the main
objective of SSA: welcoming the spouses/partners of all Schlumberger
employees with a lot of compassion and friendship.
Please help us doing it by giving your support to the SSA. SSA is run
by you and for you." |

Deysy
Lamas, Ex-Officio Global Coordinator - Beijing, China
"I am here for each one of you, and
you can count on me at any time, but I am counting on you to help me
spread the importance of the SSA in every single location of
Schlumberger, no matter how big or small it is.

SSA Global Board Outgoing Members
|
Sarah White, Global Communications Coordinator - Calgary, Canada
"I hope to support, nurture and encourage the wonderful SSA network and culture around the world as we celebrate our 20th Anniversary.
" |
|
Karen Costelloe, Ex-Officio Global Coordinator - Yuzhno-Sakhalin, Siberia
"Compassion and welcoming are the foundation of our organization. I encourage you to be compassionate in all you do. We need each other. We are here for one another."
Recently, Karen was kind enough to send an amazing letter to the Global Board, so here are some extracts:-
"I feel compelled to ask you for an enormous favor as members of this dynamic association. Please continue to encourage members to welcome spouses not by only having a coffee morning or a lunch. I feel it is important to visit the new spouses/partners, to identify an unhappy spouse/partner and not to give up on a spouse/partner even when they appear to be uninterested. We need not be best friends but we can show compassion and to simply give a hug. We must remember that not all of us have the ability to make friends easily. Some of us are shy; sometimes we are embarrassed by our accents or not being able to speak the same language
Spouses/partners must continue to take ownership of their Health Safety and Environment for themselves and families. It is imperative that we take responsibility for our safety and our children’s safety. Please continue to use your SSA passports. Imagine having your health record, your children’s health record and your pet’s health record in one place. This HSE Passport was created by many compassionate people who spent many hours, all for the benefit of the Schlumberger Spouses/Partners.
Lastly I beg you to encourage local spouses/partners to join the SSA. We have so much to learn from them for those of us who are not in our Home Country. Please also remember if we are not living in our home country we must continue to respect the people, the culture and laws of the country.
I would like to thank Andrew Gould for his support and encouragement. To the Schlumberger Management teams who worked tirelessly to assist us in creating the SSA/SLB Guidelines and the SSA HSE Passport. Thanks also to all the SLB Managers and staff who have supported us and continue to do so.
A special thank you to Tracey Mc Tague (the SSA Program Manager) and Marie Brice.(the ex-Global Communications Coordinator). Great big hugs for your patience, compassion and friendship. Thanks also to Liz Fenwick (the ex-SSA Global Coordinator between 2003- 2005) my SSA ‘history’ advisor who always made the time for me.
A big hug to all of you
Take care and God Bless
Karen"

Anisa Haddad, Global Communications Coordinator - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
"We welcome any opportunity to promote the good work that the SSA is doing for Schlumberger spouses and families." |

|
Abigail Roma Miguel, Area Coordinator, Asia/Australia - Brunei, Brunei
"My vision for Australia and ASIA is to be able to open more chapters to those SLB locations who have none, emphasize the importance of open communication in whatever mode and importantly be there for every person, chapters and as a whole for the SSA community." |
|
Azza Abdel Aziz, Area Coordinator, Middle East - Cairo, Egypt
"A secret spark charged with friendliness
and warmth initiated my affiliation with the SSA. I am looking forward to
making new friends and helping out in every way I can. I very much believe
in Gracian's words that friendship multiplies the good of life and divides
its evil."
Upon handing over her commission Azza expressed these kind words:
"This is overwhelming. I cannot thank you enough for the kind words. I enjoyed my work and did not expect it to make such an impression.
Thanks again for the support of the entire Global Board. I did my best to think positively and to diffuse as much energy as much as I could possibly generate. I cannot claim that I was fully successful but the honor of striving to make a difference might be on my side.
My lovely friends, this might be a farewell from the SSA Global Board but not from our close friendship.
Will keep writing, communicating, corresponding, connecting and revealing. You have not seen the last of me yet!
All the best,
Azza"
