About the City
Port Harcourt is the capital of Rivers State, in the Niger Delta. It lies along the Bonny River (an eastern distributary of the Niger), 41 miles (66 km) upstream from the Gulf of Guinea. Port Harcourt is Nigeria's most prominent oil city and the base for most oil companies.
